CommuniCast plans to develop digital billboards that will dynamically display any range of information based on specified preferences, triggered by a wearable wireless device in the form of a keychain.

CommuniCast can serve any sector where there is a need to enhance communication among people in a physical facility with limited space. Our initial target market focuses on improving the level of communication and social interaction among the senior citizen community. Future markets include schools, physical fitness facilities, and corporations.

“A sense of community beyond that contained within the walls of a long-term care residence is important to improving the quality of life of the confined elder. Without a community presence relieving the isolation, the culture of illness and debilitation overtakes a culture of living.”

—Susan E. Mazer, President of Healing HealthCare Systems

In larger assisted living communities, residents must physically travel to a centrally located lounge area to learn about activities/announcements. CommuniCast will obviate this problem through a series of strategically placed digital billboards. As a resident passes one of these digital billboards with their RFID-embedded keychain, it will broadcast information based on their specified preferences, including general announcements, grocery store trip notifications, postings for activity partners, etc.

CommuniCast will allow seniors to stay abreast of social activities and enhance the level of interaction with their neighbors, thus improving their overall quality of life.
