Just another regular morning…
Student X, having had very little sleep last night, enters the
parking lot 15 minutes to class. After about 5 minutes of circling
in the lot, realizes that day is a busy one. 5 more minutes pass
by, and still no sign of an empty spot. Student X’s nerves,
already weakened by having had very little sleep the night before,
begin to tense. Right then miraculously he sees an empty spot
in the far corner. A smile spreads across his face. But, wait,
another car rushes from an aisle just beside him and parks in
the spot.
“but I was here first!!” yells the student, but for
no use…
the battle has already been lost…
Finally after 30 minutes of intense frustration, the student
manages to park his car. Having missed his first lecture of the
day, gradually walks into the Bear’s Lair to celebrate…
The day finally comes to an end…
Student X, tired from all the days work, comes back to the parking
lot, cannot remember which aisle he had parked his car. The parking
lot is huge, unfriendly, 4 floors of about 200 cars each, one
of them his, but which one…
Student Y on the other hand, chooses to go to the other parking
lot, supported by the EzPARK system. Once he comes to the entrance,
he swipes his credit card through the card reader and receives
2 RF ID tags, one for his car and one for himself. Next the computer
tells/shows him which aisle he should go to park his car. His
empty spot is waiting for him. The whole process takes less than
a minute, no hassles, no battles, no confusions.
At the end of the day, Student Y comes back to the parking lot.
He does not have to remember where he parked his car, he just
shows the RF ID tag labeled “Driver” to the monitor
at the entrance and the computer tells him exactly where his car
is parked.
Student Y leaves the place in peace, ready to face the challenges
life has in store for him… |
